  15. <p>     DIED. MARY ROEBLING, 89, the first woman to serve as president
  16. of a major U.S. bank and governor of the American Stock Exchange;
  17. in Trenton, New Jersey. The widow of banking and steel-cable
  18. magnate Siegfried Roebling, she took over the Trenton Trust,
  19. where her husband had been a member of the board, and, during
  20. the Depression, quadrupled its assets. When she retired in 1984,
  21. Trenton Trust had become the $1.2 billion National State Bank.
